Another game from Beeline Interactive Inc. which is about feeding and raising monsters, very very cute monsters.  This is a very addicting and fun game which will not let you stop playing, that is if you are interested in management games. The game has a simple and unique design with creative and cute looking monsters to be a pet of your own or to share with others. There are three different types of monsters in the game which include the water/aquatic type

At the beginning of the game there will be a tutorial, a very long one, to let you understand how the game works.

The gameplay

1.     Buy pet egg/s in the egg store by tapping the egg icon on the left side of the screen

2.     Incubate the egg/s, let it hatch and you will need to tap the egg to help it get out of its shell.

3.     Move the cute monster pet to their respective tanks/habitats.

4.     Interact with your monster pet which includes feeding, cleaning, petting, breeding and playing with your monsters. The interactions available will depend on the age of your monsters.

5.     Finding you monsters a new home with customers willing to buy/adopt pet monsters. This will earn you coins to purchase new egg monsters.

Monster Eggs

            Eggs can be purchased from the egg store by tapping the egg icon on the left side your screen. There are three tabs on the left side for the three types of monsters namely the aquatic/water type, mud/land type, and the grass type. Within those types there are different categories like the common, uncommon and rare monsters. There are 12 common monsters, 18 uncommon monsters and 21 rare monsters. Completing the monsters in each category will earn you an albino monster which can be found on the right side of each category panel. The egg merchant will occasionally appear to notify you that a particularly egg is available.

            The eggs that you purchased will be added to your egg incubator. Just tap an egg and select “incubate” to begin incubating it which will let you know the length of time when the egg will hatch otherwise it will remain unhatched for a period of time and then hatch on its own. If you did not move the baby monster on a new habitat it will run away.

Interacting with your Monsters

            Interact with your monster pet which includes feeding, cleaning, petting, breeding and playing with your monsters depending on the age of your monster. The age of you monster depends on the star on the upper right corner of your monster habitat. You need to interact with your monsters to make your monsters mature as early as possible.

Monster interactions per age are as follows:

1.     One Star: feeding, cleaning

2.     Two Stars: feeding, cleaning, petting

3.     Three Stars: feeding, cleaning, petting, playing with toys

4.     Four Stars: feeding, cleaning, petting, playing with toys and hatching eggs.

Feeding

            To feed your monsters select what monster you want to feed and just click the first tab which has the bone like icon below your screen.  The food available for purchase using coins will appear and there are also premium foods to be purchased using berries. Every food item has description on them. Feeding of monsters will start with the starting food “Monster chow” which cost 3 coins. Tap the food item that you want to buy and tap the “buy” to purchase the food item, the food item will automatically go to the food bowl/storage of the monster. Just hold and drag the food item from the monster’s bowl and feed move it to the monster. Make sure that your monster is not sleeping if so; tap the monster first to wake it up. There will be a bar on the right side that will allow you to know when the monster already had enough food. You will notice that hearts will show when your giving them their favorite kind of food.

Cleaning

            You will observe that you monster’s habitat became dirty, tap the brush tab while viewing your monster. Purchase a cleaning item, the first cleaning item will cost 3 coins but cheaper items will wear out faster so I prefer using the second cleaning item which cost 20 coins because this last longer and clean better.

            Your monsters will get dirty when they stay in a dirty habitat so make sure that you clean the monster’s habitat regularly. You will notice that your monster is already dirty when you see that your monster already stinking. Use the bathtub to clean your monsters, the bathtub icon is located in the upper left corner of your screen. Tap the bathtub icon and from there you will need to purchase soap and a towel. Buy soap and put it on the tub, once you see the tab bubbles with soap use the towel to wipe your monster till the monster is clean. You may need to use additional soap depending on how dirty your monsters.

Petting

            When viewing your monsters, you need to find the monster’s preferred spot to be pet by rubbing the monsters in various areas of its body like the tummy, left side, right side, forehead etc.  The monster’s expression will let you know when it likes to be touch on that part of his body and hearts will appear if it likes the part your rubbing.

Playing with toys

       Every monster have a favorite toy, like for a Gloop it wants a piece of bling, for squonk it wants a rubber duck, for a tuckle it wants a teddy bear and etc. To know what toy your pet wants, your pet should be at three stars and just stay on its habitat and wait to see what it's thinking. Access the toy store buy clicking the fourth tab on the lower right corner of your screen while on the pet's habitat.

Hatching/Breeding

            While viewing your monster you will notice an egg on the left side of the stars/age of your monster when it reaches full maturity. It can be bred with another monster to get another egg. This is a good way to acquire those rare monsters rather than buying them.  Tap the “make egg” button if already available and there you will see the color of the monsters, cost and the percentage of success.  If you are looking for a specific color match, use the button in the top right of the screen to find new partners to match with your monster.

             If those monsters match is a success then you will have a brand new egg.  You will notice that the two monsters will smile, if you don't see a smile in there faces then the match is failure and you need to repeat again.

Finding monsters a home

            Customers will adopt your monsters and this is a way to earn coins.  Customers will request the type and color of monsters, the more accurate you fulfill their request, the more coins a customer will offer. The pending requests are stored in the active request tab.

         If the customer’s requested monster is not yet available they will go away and you just need to call them. If ever that you need to free up some space or you cannot find anyone to adopt a monster, you can click and hold the monster while on your store and click quickly adopt to make the adoption agency adopt your monster for a low price.

Feature Monsters

You can place your favorite or rare monsters on the featured window that will allow you to earn coins daily.  The monster on the featured window will still need caring, feeding and cleaning so manage your monsters properly without having shortage on coins or funds.

            You can also place your albino monster in the featured window, putting the albino monsters on the window will make you earn coins and berries.

Friends & Egg sharing

            You can add friends and invite them with your game. Here you can share and request different eggs that you like with your friends.

•       How to add friends?

                All you have to do is add your friends in Facebook with the same application like monster pet shop.  When you are already friends, open your Facebook account via monster pet shop application by going to the option and log in there.  To test this, i went to the monster pet shop application page on Facebook and added some of the people playing monster pet shop and after a while i opened my Facebook account via monster pet shop and i saw other pet shops in the map in game.

The cons:

1.     It takes a long time before the egg hatch

2.     It takes a long time before the monster matures

3.     The berries are so expensive

That is why this is a management game, it will really take a while and this makes the game exciting and fun. Except for the berries, they are so expensive. We know that this is the way they will gain income from their free game but maybe they can lower the price of the berries or provide an additional source of berries in game.

How did I play monster pet shop?

            When I first opened the game, it will begin with a very long tutorial which I forgot afterwards. LOL. So I need to review it again. I think the stating coins are not enough to play it in the beginning but when my coins run out there is bonus of 100 coins to continue playing. After that I stated to manage my pets carefully.  

I started to place the three types of habitat and put the three pet monsters that’s why I did not manage it correctly. I may advice to start with only two monsters to minimize the cost for food and cleaning items. For the cleaning items I used first the item worth 3 coins but I noticed that it will vanish quickly so I decided to purchase the second one worth 20 coins and it’s worth it.

I put my rare pokemon, I mean my rare monster on the featured window and earn 1 coin a day but decided to sell it because I needed the coin badly. Before I sold the rare monster I let it hatch first.

Click the customers that are idle in your store so you can find clues on what monster they want and what specific color they like. Giving them the specific monster they want will earn you more money and also the kid has low budget unlike the older ones.

Overall:

MONSTER PET SHOP is a unique and very good game, simple but challenging management game with cute little monsters and amusing sound effects/music.
